Our Story

“We have no special needs children, only children with special needs.”

– Uwe Maurer

Humble Beginnings

In 2007, a mum, Farzana Bham-Asvat, who longed to give her son an education in an Islamic environment, called the Jamiat to find out why there was no centres or spaces available for children with physical disabilities. Farzana’s son was born premature at 27 weeks and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. This telephone call was the start of a journey that would see the realization of educational services for Farzana’s son and many others like him.

Allah is the Best of Planners

Three years after the first Madrassah class was started, the need for a formal structure was presented. AS we approached the end of 2010, we were uncertain as to where we would find a suitable space for our learners. ¬†Algamdulillah, a very generous sponsor came forward and allowed us to use his property at no cost to us. This very generous benefactor is still unknown to many of the committee members, but remains in the duahs of those whose lives he’s generous act has impacted on.

Allah knows WHAT is best for you
